OLIVE OIL EXPERIENCE
After knowing the production method, we will taste the various types of olive oil
Some would argue that olive oil is the essence of Portuguese gastronomy. It is also important in economic terms and Portugal is now one of the largest global producers, recognized for its high quality.
Nowadays there remain only a handful of traditional producers still in operation. The production became highly industrialized and sophisticated, thereby enabling higher levels of production and profitability but also consistency in quality.
What we offer in this experiment is to start by beating the olive tree as in the past, the activity is possible only from September to November.
We will meet its production method with a guided tour of one of the best equipped presses in the world. Whenever possible, we will make a visit to an old olive oil mill, and may even be possible to see it in operation at certain times of the year.
After knowing the production method, we will taste the various types of olive oil and lunch in a local restaurant, where you will never miss the oil.
This experience can be combined with others in the same area.
